Mock exams · Bournemouth & Poole
11+ mock exams, every Saturday
A full GL-style paper under real exam conditions — followed by a detailed marked report and a parent debrief call. Because most children come unstuck on nerves and timing, not knowledge.
Why a mock matters
Familiarity is the easiest marks your child will ever gain.
On exam day, plenty of well-prepared children lose marks to things that have nothing to do with ability: the strict timing, the separate answer sheet, a room full of strangers, the silence. The first time your child experiences real exam conditions shouldn't be the day that counts.
Our Saturday mocks recreate the real thing — and unlike most mock exams, the sitting is only half of what you get. Every child leaves with a detailed marked report, and every parent gets a debrief call with honest, practical next steps. You don't just get a score; you get a plan.
- Full-length GL-style paper — English, Maths & Verbal Reasoning
- Invigilated, strictly timed, official-style answer sheets
- Detailed marked report: subject-by-subject strengths and gaps
- Parent debrief call with practical next steps — included, every sitting

Each phase of the summer has a different job. Pick the Saturdays that fit your child's run-up — you'll choose your preferred date at checkout.
Find the gaps early
A first mock is diagnostic: most children lose marks to unfamiliarity, not knowledge — and there's a whole summer to fix what it reveals.
Build exam fitness
Timing, stamina and technique under real conditions — and a clear measure of progress since the first sitting.
Sharpen
Fine-tune technique in the final stretch, while there's still time to act on the report.
The dress rehearsal
The final mock, one week out — walk into the real exam on the 26th knowing exactly what it feels like.
The Dorset schools' entrance test is Saturday 26 September 2026, and registration closes 4 September at midday — always confirm details on your target school's admissions page.

Mock exam FAQs
Questions, answered
When and where are the mock exams held?
Saturdays from 25 July to 19 September 2026, at local venues in Bournemouth and Poole. Morning sittings as standard — we confirm the exact venue and timings by email after you book.
What does a mock include?
A full-length GL-style paper across English, Maths and Verbal Reasoning, sat under invigilated exam conditions with strict timing and official-style answer sheets. Every sitting includes a detailed marked report and a parent debrief call with practical next steps.
How is this different from practice papers at home?
Conditions. A room of other children, an invigilator, strict timing, answer sheets and exam silence can't be replicated at the kitchen table — and that unfamiliarity is exactly what catches most children out on the real day. A mock makes the real thing feel familiar.
Which package should we choose?
A single sitting (£55) is a great first baseline. Most families choose two (£100) or three (£135) spaced sittings — one early in the summer to find the gaps, then one or two in September to sharpen technique and rehearse for the day itself.
When is the real exam?
The Dorset grammar schools' entrance test is on Saturday 26 September 2026, and registration closes on 4 September at midday. Always confirm the details on your target school's admissions page.
